What does Hauora mean? How do I pronounce it?


Hauora (hoh–ore–ah)

'Hauora' is the translation of ‘wellbeing’ in te reo Māori. It is often associated with the Māori health model 'Te Whare Tapa Whā'. Hauora, in Te Ao Māori is visualised as a whare (house) consisting of four walls or pillars, paramount in the upkeeping of hauora. All walls require strength and symmetry to uphold the whare (our hauora).

Taha tinana (physical body): Encompassing the bodies growth and development.

Taha hinengaro (emotional and mental): Our mental state, how we think and express our thoughts, how we feel within ourselves. Taha whānau (social): The interconnectedness between family, friendships and others. A sense of belonging, care and support for others. Taha wairua (faith and essence): Encompassing our values and how they dictate how we live amongst the universe. A sense of purpose, self-awareness and identity.




How do I book in for class?


Easy as pie!

Option 1) Sign in via our website, select a class under our ‘Schedule’ and click ‘Book Now’.

Option 2) Open up your Mindbody app, search ‘Hauora Wellbeing Studio’, select a class and click ‘Book’.




What if I can’t make a class?


We get it… life likes to throw us curveballs! No hard feelings, we just ask that you cancel your booking as soon as you can so we can try to fill your spot.




What should I bring with me?


  1. Your wonderful self!
  2. A water bottle.
  3. Clothing you feel comfortable training in.
  4. A little nervous? why not bring a hoa! (friend)




What types of training do you offer?


We offer a wide range of classes to keep you motivated! HIIT, resistance training, metabolic conditioning, strength & conditioning, flexibility & mobility, handstand training, calisthenics, plyometrics and suspension training.




What if I forgot my password or login details?


Don’t worry, we’ve all been there… you can reset your password by following the instructions on our website login, or MindBody app login page.

How do I book a consultation at Hauora?


Depending on which type of consultation you are looking for, we have allocated slots available for booking online and in the Mindbody app, if these don’t work for you contact us directly and we can organise a consultation to suit your schedule!

Where can I park?


We have two spots infront of the studio, which are often available! Or free parking down Winchester Street. There is also plenty of street parking in the area (some free, some paid!) but all street parking is free from 6pm. Check out our 'Parking Map' on our social media for some extra help!
