For the first time, the Knoxfit whānau have invited another community-based gym to participate in their in-house competition… and that’s us!

As two businesses with similar kaupapa; focused around boosting our whanaungatanga (sense of community), strengthening our connection with our hauora (sense of wellbeing) whilst delivering an education-based approach to fitness, we are incredibly excited to be able to offer our whānau an opportunity to get involved with this event!

The KnoxFit x Hauora Games is a mixed 4-person team event, designed to push your limits both physically and mentally, while working together to discover your potential and experience that incredible sense of achievement! There are 2 divisions that participants can enter depending on experience, skill-level and confidence in movements. One will be ‘advanced’, and be predominantly barbell-based, while the other will be ‘scaled’, focusing mainly on kettlebell, dumbbell and bodyweight movements.

the training camp

November 22nd-Dec 17th

Taken some time off training over lockdown? No dramas! Both Hauora Wellbeing Studio and Knoxfit will be hosting outdoor classes and specific programming, tailored to the demands of the competition! The training camp will boost your metabolic conditioning and give you the confidence and skills you need to compete in either division.

the games day

+ free t-shirt

saturday december 18th

If you’re happy on PAYG, or want to continue with your own training, you can choose to skip the training camp and enter the Games with Hauora for a discounted rate. All participants will receive a Games Day Top to remember the day, tees and tanks are available.

As these are 4-person workouts, you can choose to enter as a complete team with your friends or enter the player pool as an individual, pair or team of 3 and we can work our magic to complete your Games Day whānau.

volunteers needed

Are you injured or not sure if competing is for you? Join us as an Events Day Volunteer! We need a solid crew of volunteers to help with setting up and judging. All volunteers will receive a free Games Day tee as a koha from us.

to compete or not to compete

While these Games certainly have a competitive nature, we tautoko that not everyone is that intensely competitive and may want to compete just to be part of a team, have a sense of direction with training or just be in for the good vibes… not just to stand on the podium! We have chosen to offer participants the opportunity to take part in the games, but without the pressure or anxiety of having their team name on the Leaderboard.

By choosing not to ‘compete to win’, participants have the opportunity to change out certain exercises due to injury or construct their teams however they want to get their hoa and whanau onboard!

We understand competing isn’t for everyone, but we encourage you to give it a try and bask in the pride you’ll feel after a hard day of mahi at our special after-comp party!

We have a venue sorted for an epic after-party to celebrate everyone’s efforts on the day, this may change depending on Alert Levels but we have our fingers crossed for a big blowout and BBQ amongst friends!

prize giving

Yes, there will be prizes! We’re partnering up with other local, small businesses in our community to put together some awesome prizes and spot prizes for Games Day.

We encourage you to support these businesses where possible, whether you’re a winner or competitor. Our small businesses in Aotearoa need you!

We're happy to help in anyway we can! So flick us a message and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.
